By the way, does anyone know if it is possible to replace the Solex 26FHG carburettor on a 4-cylinder trike with an SU? I have an early 1" SU type OM and am tempted to give it a try. The OM was used on the Lanchester 10 and the MG M-type in each case with a standard M9 needle. I have had so much trouble with Solex carburettors over the years and the current example has a bad flat spot at about 35-40 mph in top gear which I cannot cure. I feel much more at home with SU carburettors!
